Method

  1. Boil half a white or green cabbage until still slightly crisp. Toss in the sizzling butter with the lemon zest and poppy seeds. When it’s hot, finish with a squeeze of lemon juice.

We added peas -put them in the boiling water and cook for 2 or 3 minutes before adding the cabbage. This was an attractive side dish for cottage pie.
