Pork chop melts

Pork chop melts

Succulent, grilled pork chops with rich, creamy, melted blue cheese - ready in less than 30 minutes

Difficulty and servings

Easy

Serves 4

Preparation and cooking times

Ready in 20-30 minutes

Method

  1. Turn on the grill. Season the chops on both sides with a good sprinkling of salt and pepper. Grill under a moderate heat for 12-16 minutes, turning once, until just cooked.
  2. Add the topping. Thinly slice the cheese (don't worry if it breaks up a bit). Spoon the apple sauce over the chops and top each one with a couple of slices of cheese. Slide back under the grill for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and tinged brown. Serve with mashed potatoes and a green veg such as leeks or broccoli, and with any melted cheesy bits from the bottom of the pan.

'This makes pork really interesting. Some of my family don't like blue cheese, so I substituted red Leicester.'

A great way to make pork chops more interesting. I have also tried this with cheddar and red leicester when I have had no blue cheese

Really lovely! and so easy. A good way to use up some old stilton and the dregs of some apple sauce. Even my husband who generally isn't keen on pork chops rated it 8/10 the first time we tried it Plan to make it again tonight.

Fantastic and delicious. I used Smoked Applewood cheese and even my picky 6 year old son wanted some. I can't wait to make it again.

Very nice indeed. The strong blue cheese goes well with the apple sauce. Does not take long to make. Will definitely make again.

So easy it's ridiculous - so so tasty. Blue cheese can often be over powering but the apple sauce compliments & softens beautifully. Second time I made this I cooked it with a foil lining & doubled the apple sauce & cheese topping - this resulted in extra lovely bubbling sauce to pour over.
