Method

  1. Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Put the chicken and lemon chunks in a large roasting tin, season with pepper, then roast for 30 mins until the chicken is turning golden.
  2. After 25 mins, bring a little water to the boil in a frying pan, add the broccoli, cover and steam for 3 mins until bright green and almost tender, then drain.
  3. Tuck the broccoli around the chicken, scatter the garlic and ginger over and around the meat, then splash over the lemon juice, soy and honey. Sprinkle with the sesame seeds. Roast for another 15 mins until the chicken is golden and tender, and juices look sticky. Drizzle with sesame oil, then serve the chicken, broccoli and juices with rice.

Very yummy recipe. I marinated the chicken with the garlic, ginger and lemon wedges overnight and then followed to recipe. I also forgot the broccoli, but it was still a delicous dish.

Delicious! Perfect balance of flavours, although I would probably make up more sauce next time, just because there wasn't loads of it, and it was very tasty! Definitely worth using skin on thighs/drumsticks as the crispy skin was a real winner.

This was absolutely delicious! Everyone around the table loved it. I would either add more honey, or maybe add a little less honey juice next time as the lemony-ness was quite strong however, I've made a delicious gravy from the remnants in the roasting tray using some chicken stock for tomorrow nights dinner! Definitely will be making this again :)

Made this the other night, but left out the honey (can't stand the stuff with savoury food!), so added a slosh of white wine for a bit of extra liquid! My broccoli was a little overdone so would definately cook that for less time next time, but overall a good dish.

Delicious and so quick and easy. I make extra sauce to go with rice.

This was really yummy, perfect combination of flavours. I used two regular broccolis and 6 skinless chicken thigh fillets for this, but next time I might try it with bone-in legs or chicken breast. Will also cook it longer as the sauce never went sticky.

It was OK, but I thought it was too bitter. I wonder if mixing the lemon juice with sugar rather than drizzling with honey would have been more to our taste.

Did this with a pack of thighs & drumsticks so I wouldn't have to chop the chicken myself. It was less effort than it sounded, and very tasty. Might well do it again.

Easy to cook, but sauce was very runny, I will use the juice of half a lemon next time.

Tasty and light meal. I could have eaten seconds. Would have liked more sauce, and I rubbed the chicken in Chinese 5 spice first too for extra chinese tastes.

I had half a lime in the fridge, so that went in too, and I couldn't resist a few chilli flakes as I love my food spicy hot! Really simple and super delicious but next time I'll try it with skinless/boneless thighs as I'm not really a fan of bones though I will miss the crispy skin... Any which way, this one will definitely be cooked again here, loved it!
