  • 120g butter
  • 40g granulated sugar
  • 120g brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • a pinch of salt
  • 100g of cocoa powder
  • a teaspoon of baking soda
  • 300g flour
  • 80ml water
  • 150g chocolate chips
  • 1 egg

    Method

    • step 1

      Preheat the oven to 165` then cream together butter,sugars,vanilla esssence and salt
    • step 2

      Beat in the cocoa powder then dissolve the baking soda into the water and then put into the mix
    • step 3

      Stir in the flour, then the egg, then the chocolate chips now place the dough by spoonful on a greased baking sheet, this can be done by an ice cream scoop or a tablespoon
    • step 4

      Bake for 15 mins. Do not over bake! The cookies may seem a bit underdone when they come out the oven.

    Used 50g less flour and had to add a bit of extra warm water to get a very stiff dough. But after 14min in the oven made very nice brownie/cookies with a gooey middle. Kids rated them 90% but not as good as dominoes! Would definitely make again.

    I was really excited about this recipe, but it was not sweet enough. It seemed way too dry so added more water but still wasn't great. Back to dominos for me!
