Ingredients

  • 180g soft butter
  • 200g soft brown sugar
  • 180g caster sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 360g self-raising flour
  • 250g oats, ground until fine
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 300g chocolate chips
  • 250g grated chocolate
  • 150g chopped nuts

Method

  • STEP 1
    Preheat the oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4.
  • STEP 2
    Cream the butter and both sugars together. Add the eggs and vanilla essence, and beat well. Add the flour, oats, salt, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda and mix well. Finally, add the chocolate chips, grated chocolate and nuts and blend.
  • STEP 3
    Roll the mixture into small balls. Place 10cm apart onto a baking tray. and cook for 10 minutes.
