  • 4 baking potatoes, well scrubbed and completely dry
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 pinch coarse salt, to taste
  • 4 pieces of aluminium foil

    Method

    • step 1

      Prick the potatoes with a fork several times,
    • step 2

      Rub potatoes with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and wrap tightly in foil.
    • step 3

      Place the potatoes into a slow cooker, cover, and cook on High for 4 1/2 to 5 hrs or Low for 7 1/2 to 8 hrs

    Tried this last night, 5 hours on high and as raw as they went in. Very disappointed. I'll stick to the gas oven in future.

    Very disappointed with this. Gave 2 x 9oz potatoes 5 hours on high - they were cooked (just) but as you might expect from the method (tightly wrapped in foil), they were just a steamed potato in its skin.
