Ingredients

  • 2 average size mugs self raising flour
  • 1 mug sugar
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 4oz butter melted
  • 1 mug milk
  • 1 & 1/2 tbl golden syrup
  • 1 egg

Method

  • STEP 1
    Sive all dry ingredients in to a bowl
  • STEP 2
    Add butter, syrup and milk in to dry ingredients and mix in
  • STEP 3
    Add in the egg and beat well
  • STEP 4
    Spoon in to a lined and greased 9" square tin
  • STEP 5
    Cook at 170 for 1/2 to 3/4 hour
  • STEP 6
    Basic icing sugar glaze optional
