    Method

    • step 1

      rub the butter into the flour.
    • step 2

      then mix in all other dry ingredients.
    • step 3

      gradually beat in the egg.
    • step 4

      roll out until 1/2 cm thick and then cut to your preferred shape.
    • step 5

      put on a greased tray to bake in a pre heated oven at gas mark 5/180 degrees until golden brown.
    • step 6

      place on a cooling rack to cool down.
    • step 7

      if you want to decorate it.

    Sorry to point this out but it's caster sugar not castor sugar. Castors are the things furniture rolls around on!

    how do i get the mixture runny?

    Dough is not supposed to be runny. It is meant to be fairly firm.
