Ingredients

  • 170g/6oz self-raising wholemeal flour
  • 170g/6oz plain flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 290ml/½ pint buttermilk

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 200c Mix dry ingredients in a bowl

  2. Add buttermilk

  3. Form a dough ball, don't knead

  4. Lay on dusted baking tray, cut a cross in the middle

So easy to make and a great result with very little effort! Will definitely make again and great for a quick loaf when you've run out of bread.
