Plain white sauce, can be made in to a cheese sauce

  • Plain flour
  • Butter
  • Milk
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Nutmeg
  • Optional cheese


  1. Melt butter in pan

  2. Slowly add a couple of table spoons of flour

  3. Take off heat now and slowly mix in milk (until a thin consistency)

  4. Put back on heat and keep stirring until it boils, then simmer for minute or two, (add cheese now - optional)

  5. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg
