Ingredients

  • 75g butter
  • 75g caster sugar
  • 75g soft light brown sugar
  • 1 egg, size 3
  • 175g s.r. flour
  • pinch salt
  • 125g choc chips
  • 50g chopped nuts (optional)

Method

  • STEP 1
    Cream butter and sugars until pale and fluffy
  • STEP 2
    Gradually beat in egg
  • STEP 3
    sift in flour and salt and fold into mixture
  • STEP 4
    stir in the nuts, if using, and half the choc chips
  • STEP 5
    drop 8 spoonfuls onto greased baking sheets and pat down slightly. Bake in oven at 180c for 15mins
  • STEP 6
    when cooked, remove from oven and whilst warm sprinkle on rest of choc chips and push gently into cookies. Cool on wire rack
