  • 4 Apples
  • 200g Plain white flour
  • 100g Butter
  • 100g muscovado sugar
  • 50g Oats, to top

    Method

    • step 1

      Preheat fan oven to 200. Use an apple slicer to slice the apples and then chop the segments in half. Spread evenly on the base of a baking dish and place in fridge so the apples don't go brown.
    • step 2

      Add the flour and butter to a large mixing bowl and roughly slice the butter until in thick strips. You should now be able to combine the two together easily with your hands - you need to get it to look and feel like breadcrumbs.
    • step 3

      Sift in the the brown muscovado sugar to the crumble mix, getting rid of any lumps. Now spread over apples and top with the oats. Bake for 30-40 mins. Serve hot with cream, custard or ice cream and even some blackberries if possible.
