Chilli con carne

  • 1tbs oil
  • 1 lge onion chopped
  • 1 red pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic chopped
  • 1 heaped tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp dried marjoram
  • Minced beef
  • 1 beef stock cube
  • 400g tin chopped tomatoes
  • 2tbs tomato puree
  • 1 tin kidney beans
  • 1 tin sweetcorn
  • 280ml hot water


  • STEP 1
    Heat oil in pan add onions and cook until soft
  • STEP 2
    Add garlic and spices except for marjaram cook for few mins
  • STEP 3
    Brown the mince in the pan
  • STEP 4
    Mix stock cube into water add to pan stir in tomato marjaram,sugar,salt and pepper
  • STEP 5
    Simmer with lid on add beans and sweetcorn
