This recipe comes from the cook in my great grandmother's house during the 1930's. It's a delicious and deffiantly doesn't last long!!

- 170g caster sugar
- 170f margarine
- 3 eggs
- 85g plain flour
- 85g ground almonds
- 1 teaspoon almond essence
- a good pinch of salt
Method
step 1
cream and butter the sugarstep 2
add eggs, salt, almond essence and the the ground almondsstep 3
add the flour slowlystep 4
beat wellstep 5
bake in a moderate oven at 150C/gas mark 2 for 45- 60 mins( this cake doesn't rise very much- and it is better if slightly under cook as it is very moist then! )
