Ingredients
Cakes
- 188g of softened margarine
- 188g of castor sugar
- 3 eggs
- 188g of self-raising flour
- 3 tablespoons of milk
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 25g of coco powder
- 100g of chocolate chips
Buttercreme
- 188g of softened margarine
- 188g of castor sugar
- 3 eggs
- 188g of self-raising flour
- 3 tablespoons of milk
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 25g of coco powder
- 100g of chocolate chips
- 75g of softened butter or margarine
- 200g of icing sugar
Method
- STEP 1Preheat the oven at 190°C/375°F or Gas mark 5
- STEP 2Using a stand mixer or a hand mixer cream the margarine and sugar until light fluffy.
- STEP 3Beat the eggs in a cup then gradually add them into the mixture. After that add the coca powder.
- STEP 4Sift in half of the flour
- STEP 5Add the milk
- STEP 6Sift and incorporate the other half of the flour
- STEP 7Mix in the chocolate chips
- STEP 8Put into cake cases using an Ice cream scoop making sure that the mixture is level.
- STEP 9Bake in the oven for 20-30 minuets.
- STEP 10Place onto a cooling rack to cool then decorate the cakes the way you like.
- STEP 11For the Buttercreme: Cream the butter and icing sugar in a bowl
- STEP 12Add the milk in and mix until smooth.
