  1. Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Steam the leeks for 10 mins or until just tender, then drain and pat dry. Arrange in an ovenproof dish and spoon over the cheese sauce.

  2. Mix the breadcrumbs, cheese, lemon zest and thyme together. Scatter over the leeks and bake for 15-20 mins, until the leeks are cooked and the crumbs have turned golden and crisped up.

This was delicious. I put cod fillets in the dish with the rest of the ingredients, cooked for 30 mins and it was really good.

I hate leeks but my wife loves them, I decided to make this one evening as a treat for her. Tried them myself and I loved them like this. Give it a try, very simply tast side dish

I live in Australia and don't know what 4 cheese sauce is. They do cheese sauce in jars which you put on pasta but it is very gluey with a fake taste. Does anyone know what the equivalent is please?
