Ingredients

  • 100g/4oz Dairy Free Margarine ( Vitalite is good)
  • 85g/3oz Soft Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp of Golden Syrup
  • 170g/6oz Self Raising Flour
  • 100g/4oz Dairy Free Chocolate Chips or chopped chocolate
  • 2 Tsp of Kara Dairy Free Milk

Method

    1. Pre heat the oven to 170C/150c fan
    2. Cream the margarine and sugar in a bowl until pale and fluffy.
    3. Stir in the golden syrup
    4. Stir in the flour slowly, bringing the mixture together. It looks very thick and sticky at this stage.
    5. Add the chocolate and the milk and mix until all ingredients are fully combined.
    6. Place teaspoons of the mixture on a greased baking tray evenly spaced apart
    7. Put into oven for 8-10 minutes until golden. The cookies are very soft when freshly cooked. Leave them for 5 minutes before transfering off the tray to cool
    8. Cookies best eaten within 2 days

My daughter recently had to go dairy free, I have been buying ( over expensive ) treats. I found this recipe last night, it is so quick and easy that I managed to make them while I cooked tea. I added chopped DF chocolate and leftover DF fudge pieces, which went lovely and gooey, BUT make sure you have somewhere to hide them, they are so tasty that they will disappear immediately.

My two daughters are allergic to dairy, egg and nuts so these biscuits were perfect, I made them with my 4 year old and they were delicious! My husband said they were the best biscuits he has tasted and he is something of a biscuit expert!

My son has dairy, nut and egg allergy. This is the best cookie recipe so far (and I have tried many) really easy and quick to make. These are a softer texture, more cakey than crispy, but still delicious.

I made these cookies today with my five-year-old Niece. She is allergic to milk, so it's not always easy to bake yummy things, but these were absolutely delicious! Very easy recipe, she had lots of fun mixing everything together (and licking the bowl afterwards of course!). They needed a little longer than stated, about 20 mins, but they were fantastic. I also used Vitalite which gave them a lovely flavour. Thanks for this recipe, I'll be making these again and again!

I guess so. The DF margarine is quite soft so make sure what ever spread you use is nice and soft. Have a go!!
