This is the best recipe for chocolate chip cookies I have found ever

  • half cup of butter
  • half cup of soft light brown sugar
  • half cup of caster sugar
  • 1 cup of plain flour
  • 1 1/4 cups of oats
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 100g chocolate (whatever kind you like)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


    1. cream butter and sugars, preheat oven to 180 degrees and line two baking trays with baking paper
    2. add egg and beat vigorously
    3. in another bowl add flour to oats and baking powders
    4. add chocolate and add to butter and egg mixture
    5. beat together
    6. roll into 2cm balls and space about 5cm apart
    7. place in the oven for 8-10 minutes
    8. take out and leave in the tray for 2 minutes then transfer to cooling rack
    9. now enjoy!!

This is a really good recipe although I don't usually work in cups! Tasted delicious although could maybe have done with slightly less sugar as the sugar, chocolate chips and vanilla altogether made the very sweet. Saying that I used milk and white chocolate chips so it may have been extra sweet because of that. I added the vanilla to the creamed butter, sugar and egg before adding the flour and oats. Will defo use this recipe again.

Any type of brown sugar also works perfectly. Doesn't say when to add vanilla extract so I put it in the end, but don't think it's strictly necessary. Tasted delicious.

Tasted good. Had to bake for an extra minute or two but this was maybe because I made the balls slightly bigger.

you can change the ingredients , change the amount of chocolate, sugar and you can just make sugar cookies if you want by taking the chocolate out
