Made this a week before christmas, and froze it . I froze it before cooking and had no problems, It was delicious, and all my guests agreed.

Made this ready for Christmas day. Put it in the freezer ready for the big day :-)
However, made a small burger with a bit that was left over, and it tastes fantastic. I added twice the amount of apple and sage as I like both flavours, and it worked really well. Highly recommend.

I used this recipe for the first time last Christmas using beautiful Norfolk sausage meat and I grated the apples - it went down such a storm in our house that I'll definitely be making it again this year!

You can also make sausage rolls from the mixture -I use Filo pastry that way not too bad on the cals and nice and light for a boxing day treat .delish

I have always made my own stuffing, using the same recipe for years. Tried this one - amazing. Its the only recipe Ill ever use from now on. I used ordinary breadcrumbs, and cooked it in a shallow dish, as we like it crispy. Truly excellent recipe.

I make this regularly. I roll it into balls and freeze. Then thaw out before cooking as per recipe above.
All the family love it.

Can you make in advance and freeze ?

Since I discovered this recipe a few years ago, I've not made packet stuffing! It's a Christmas must!

Made this a couple of days in advance and was very easy to make. It was a great hit on xmas day with everyone and I will never buy supermarket stuffing again!

Used the recipe twice now looks like it will be a standard from now on. Not hard to make, almost as fast as the packet stuff but much much better.Could easily be experimented with, finely chopped mushrooms, crumbled black pudding or even add some dried packet mix ?

Really easy to make and the best stuffing I have ever had. I will never buy out of a packet again!

I added cranberry sauce to the mix as well really gave it a lovely sweet undertone

we have been making this stuffing for years, the difference being we have not used apple before, that makes a big difference, though it's good either way, delicious, thx :)))

a quick question for those that have frozen it-do you cook it completely before freezing or just prepare it?? thank you in advance

Made this to go along a roast chicken dinner for my mum and it was FAB. So much better than packet stuff, and as I had made it ahead and frozen there was no fuss on the big day. YUMMY!!

Full of flavour and really easy to make. I made it in a loaf tin and served in slices with roast chicken and a rich gravy - delicious! Liked the flavour of the apple pieces with the sausage meat - will definitely make again.
