Method

Tip the sugar and orange juice into a pan, then bring to the boil. Stir in the cranberries, then simmer until tender but still holding their shape – this will take about 5 mins if using frozen cranberries or 8-10 mins if using fresh. The sauce will thicken as it cools. Will keep in the fridge for 1 week. On the day, bring to room temperature before serving.

Wow! Sweet yet tangy aftertaste. I made this several days ahead and it was so worth the minimal effort. I thought cranberries would be expensive but they were only £2 for a large punnet in asda. I shall be making this again - good bye shop bought!!

Simple and delicious. Just what you need when there's lots to do.

I made this last Christmas - it was so easy and tasted so much better than shop bought. Quick to make which is great because you are so busy with everything else at Christmas! I will be making this every year!

Cranberry is a symbol and a modern diet staple of thanksgiving. This is permanent companion of turkey during thanksgiving feast. Sweeten the bitten cranberries is simple just like your cranberry sauce and the cranberry recipes that I stumbled at www.gourmandia.net. Thanks for sharing.

Just literally made this (its sat on the hob still steaming) I've added a star anise and used freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh cranberries and it smells amazing. Going in the fridge once chilled to develop flavour for the big day. Cannot wait!
