My husband absolutely loved this cake, it was best served warm with some whipped cream, might think about it as a desert for the next dinner party.

Amazing! My all-time favourite pudding. Ridiculously simple to make considering it tastes so good. Delicious straight from the oven with a generous dollop of whipped cream, equally delicious heated in the microwave the next day - gooey and gorgeous!

Great, easy chocolate cake to make without needing any fussy equipment- very, very rich so goes a long way. I made a berry coulis to put on the top, which balanced out flavours well. Definately will be making again. Made with self-raising flour as had no baking powder- but turned out fine.

Oh my goodness... This went down an absolute treat with my family when I took it as a pudding. I served it with creme fraiche. Think they were a little gutted that I hadn't made double. It's also a doddle to make.

I am rubbish at making cakes and deserts they never go right. I thought I would give this one a try as many comments said how easy it was. It came out lovely, I will make again but doubt not too often as it is really naughty but very very good. Perfect.

Just made this. It is absolutely gorgeous but mine cooked a bit too quickly (oven runs hot) so is a bit crispy on the outside and very runny on the inside, more like a sticky chocolate pudding than a brownie. I think it has firmed up a bit since I tasted it mind as I was a bit impatient and didn't wait 30 minutes for it too cool!

It was so yummy I'm trying a dairy free version for my son.

Really easy to make too.

Perfect!!! Made this for desert, served hot out the oven with cream and vanilla icecream - soooo naughty - but sooo very good!!! Thanks

mine grew really high in the oven, then it went down, burnt on top but was squishy in the middle
i followed the recipe perfectly, i thought, apart from adding 1 tablespoon more syrup as i misread it. now it is very thin, burnt on top and sticky inside
i dont understand where i went wrong

Not sure what I did wrong with this but my cake was as hard as rock, and apart from using it as a doorstop I didn't know what else to do with it! I consider myself pretty good a cake baking but I somehow went wrong with this recipe. I've just make the Chocolate Fondant recipe by Gordon Ramsey so I know I haven't lost my touch, but I definitely won't be trying this recipe again...

rachykerr28's picture

i made this last night but,
1. only had SR flour so used that and didn't use baking powder.
2. used a 20cm square tin
3. added some milk choc chips
It really turned out perfectly. I cut into squares and took into work today - everyone thought they were great.
I make brownies regularly and think this will be the only recipe i use from now on.
