Method

  1. Place the chicken on a baking tray, rub with a little of the butter, season and cook under the grill for 15 mins, turning once until cooked through.
  2. Mix together the remaining garlic butter and breadcrumbs. Remove the chicken from the grill and top each breast with a smear of the breadcrumbed butter. Return to the grill and cook 3-5 mins until the breadcrumbs are golden and the butter melted. Serve any buttery juices, alongside new potatoes and peas or broad beans.

This has to be one of the yummiest dinners I have cooked! I did change it slightly and cooked the chicken in the oven and not the grill. Also as I was doing this for two people I adjusted the quantity accordingly. I made a couple of slits in each chicken breast first and pushed in a little of the garlic butter and seasoned. I then cooked the breasts on gas 6 for 20 minutes. I then took them out and spread the breadcrumb mixture on each one and cooked for a further 10 minutes until golden. The chicken was moist and delicious. I did cheat and bought lurpak garlic butter rather than make my own! The garlic was just the right amount. If anyone is on ww and looking to cook this then I have valued each chicken breast as 7 pro points.

This was so much tastier than I expected it to be, will deff be a regular in our house!

loved this, served simply with new potatoes and green veg. Normal Kiev always seems to loose sauce when cooking and ends up rather dry - this stays really moist

Really quick and easy. I served it with a creamy potato gratin for a little extra indulgence, along with garden peas.

I cooked mine in the oven, not the grill...not sure if this recipe has confused the two as it says 'heat the grill' but then doesn't say to use it!!

I also added more garlic butter and crushed a couple of garlics, and even then it wasn't overly garlicy - though still very tasty! I also made a small hole in the chicken before cooking and then pushed some of the garlic butter in to add extra taste to the middle of the chicken!

Will definitely make again - lovely!

Need to up the garlic next time as the taste was quite subtle. Served with John Torode's herby new potatoes and sauteed leeks. Simple, easy and low fat. Great recipe

I think this is a great store cupboard recipe and is something I fall back on regularly when I haven't had time to go shopping as I always have chicken breasts (defrosted from frozen), garlic, butter and breadcrumbs. I use the chilli and coriander breadcrumbs from Waitrose and serve with sautéed potatoes and steamed veg. It's brilliant.

Made this for dinner today, the only change I made was added a bit more garlic to the breadcrumbs. The whole family enjoyed it and thought it tasted better than a shop bought kiev. So this will be a regular in our house :-)

Cooked this on Fathers Day last Sunday, my dad doesn't do fancy cooking, although he does like garlic, so thought this would be a good recipe to try. Served with new potatoes and salad it went down a treat. The bonus was it's so quick and easy. Will be doing this again (including my dad)

These were easy to make and the chicken was moist and tasty with the garlic butter.

I cooked in the oven and added to cherry tomatoes and mushrooms to the tray towards the end.
