Method
- Heat the oil in a pan, throw in the onion and cook for a couple of minutes. Stir in the garlic, tomatoes, chilli and sugar. Season with salt and pepper and bring to the boil. Give it a good stir, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, bring a large pan of salted water to the boil. Add the pasta and cook according to packet instructions. Flake the tuna into the sauce and heat through. Drain the pasta, return to the pan and stir in the sauce and basil leaves if you have any. Serve with a generous grinding of pepper.

A nice simple recipe that can be made quickly when your kids are screaming for something tasty and filling! My 4 and a half year old is majorly fussy and ate this without any questions asked. I chopped my onion as finely as possible and used garlic infused rapeseed oil for frying and passata instead of chopped tomatoes so no 'bits'. My son isn't a spice fan so no chilli but I would definitely add it for me to jazz it up. Hardly culinary genius but still tasty!
Just noticed I totally forgot the basil. I love fresh basil and we had it in but on the other it was still lush without it! I altered recipe to suit my own taste, made it into a pasta BAKE with cheese and breadcrumbs which I totally recommend. For me Tuna and Tom only really work together when it's SPICY :)
