Dr Amit D Mistry, MBChB MRCPsych BSc is a Consultant Sports Psychiatrist, visiting lecturer in Sport & Exercise Medicine and mental health advisor to Oxford University Sport. He is chair of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Sport & Exercise Special Interest Group and has recently published his first case-study book called “Case Studies in Sports Psychiatry” (Cambridge University Press). This is the first-ever mental health book to have been co-authored by leading sport physicians and professional athletes.
Dr Mistry is a frontline NHS clinician working in adult community eating disorders and has published academic research related to exercise, exercise addiction, eating disorders, athlete mental health and wellbeing within the sport, leisure and fitness industry. Amit has played different rugby codes up to national representative level and continues to enjoy recreational outdoor swimming and running.
