Ingredients

  • 4 Apples
  • 200g Plain white flour
  • 100g Butter
  • 100g muscovado sugar
  • 50g Oats, to top

Method

  1. Preheat fan oven to 200. Use an apple slicer to slice the apples and then chop the segments in half. Spread evenly on the base of a baking dish and place in fridge so the apples don't go brown.

  2. Add the flour and butter to a large mixing bowl and roughly slice the butter until in thick strips. You should now be able to combine the two together easily with your hands - you need to get it to look and feel like breadcrumbs.

  3. Sift in the the brown muscovado sugar to the crumble mix, getting rid of any lumps. Now spread over apples and top with the oats. Bake for 30-40 mins. Serve hot with cream, custard or ice cream and even some blackberries if possible.
