Dualit classic kettle summary

This big, solid kettle makes a real statement on your worktop. The polished stainless steel kettle comes in a choice of trims – including brass, copper and evergreen – to complement your kitchen.

It’s thoughtfully designed, with not one but two water level windows – one in cups and one in litres. We also like the fact that the red ‘on’ light is on the kettle itself, rather than the switch, making it easy to see at a glance.

The lid is pull-up, but, unusually, it’s hinged. The filling area is notably large and the spout is designed to avoid drips. Performance is good, with the kettle boiling a litre of water from the cold tap in just over 2 mins.

The kettle has also been awarded the Quiet Mark from the UK Noise Abatement Society for its ‘whisper boil’, which is designed to keep the noise level down. This is a clever function, especially if you’re the sole early riser in your house.

This is a kettle that's designed to last – and given its higher-than-average price point, this is important. The element is replaceable, so you don’t need to ditch the kettle if that goes.
