  • 100g butter, roughly chopped

  • 300g dark chocolate (such as Bournville), broken into squares
  • 3 tbsp golden syrup
  • 140g rich tea biscuit, roughly crushed
  • 12 pink marshmallow, quartered (use scissors)
  • 2 x 55g bars Turkish delight, halved and sliced (or use Maltesers, Milky Way or Crunchie bars)


  1. Gently melt the butter, chocolate and syrup in a pan over a low heat, stirring frequently until smooth, then cool for about 10 mins.

  2. Stir the biscuits and sweets into the pan until well mixed, then pour into a 17cm square tin lined with foil and spread the mixture to roughly level it. Chill until hard, then cut into fingers.

love this recipe!!!! I've given it to my children's teachers as xmas gifts & I shaped it into a cat (doubled the recipe & used round tins) for my son's 1st birthday, everyone comments on how yummy it is. I use lidl bellarom 45% chocolate & I find mars bars work best

Oh yes! Great recipe and can be adapted to whatever you fancy adding. Today I changed the golden syrup for maple syrup and added some chopped walnuts. As long as you keep the proportions roughly the same it works every time.

I have made this recipe so many times I've lost count! Always a huge hit with family and work colleagues. I give it as gifts for Christmas wrapped in cellophane and always use 70% good quality dark chocolate, digestive biscuits and crunchie bars, absolutely delicious!

I have no idea where I went wrong but these just didn't bind for me - it's as though it was mainly biscuits and hardly any chocolate to stick it together. I followed the recipe exactly. If anyone has some tips let me know! Maybe I should use less biscuits next time. It still tasted really nice though - just fell apart.

Such a good recipe! Delicious and easy. I find malteasers work best out of all the other options and Cadbury's milk chocolate tastes a lot better than dark chocolate when making these.

These always go down SO well with anyone I make them for. They're so quick to make aswell! Instead of all the ingredients listed above, I use: just under 100g morello cherries (quartered), and just under 100g marshmallows (cut into small pieces). The cherries add that chewy and sweet element and the marshmallow melts, creating a lovely marbled effect and they taste so moreish! It's just a shame that the ingredients don't stretch to a larger portion as I don't think you could produce this too cheaply- buying the right chocolate DOES matter. I tried it once with supermarket's own 30p per bar plain chocolate and it just didn't work.

Amazing! Sweet and yummy! I tried with crunchie bars. I cut into to smaller squares so they weren't so rich and got lots more than 12 out of the batch. will def make again as so easy and quick.

I've made this loads of times, a real crowd (and husband) pleaser! I also use a mix of plain and milk chocolate which works very well.

This is a great recipe! I used a combination of dark and milk chocolate so that it wasn't too bitter and a mars bar gave it tiny hints of gooeyness. I sprinkled them with icing sugar and gave out as sweet nibbles- they were a real hit!

Really simple to make, I made it with malteasers and was a bit too crunchie for my liking, will make it again, instead I'll add milky way of mars bar. Also less rich tea biscuits will be used, I like more chocolate less crunch ha!

Added some walnuts, raisins and dried cherries that needed using up and used acacia honey instead of golden syrup. Very, very tasty, chewy, scrumptious... and will def make again!

I made these with choc rich tea biscuits, mars, marshmallows and maltesers, they were a big hit although I made the mistake of adding everything to chocolate when it was still hot and the marshmallows and mars melted. They were still yummy and very popular with teenage sons and their friends. All that butter and chocolate - heart attack in a bar - but they were worth it.

Have made this twice-first time used 85% dark chocolate with marshmallows, Turkish delight, rich T biscuits and chocolate M+Ms. Next time used 74% dark choc and swapped M+Ms for Smarties. Better second time-think it was the chocolate. Next time using maltesers as it needs a crunch alongside marshmallows and turkish delight. So good though!!

Fool proof and delicious. 2nd batch I needed a veggie option so I used Milky Way and put Magic Stars on top. VERY popular (with the adults too!) Now I've tested it, I'm going to try with more milk chocolate in the mix.

Made this yesterday and did half & half still as nice,kids like it more now though.
I think next time I might put some coffee in,just to try,i will keep in touch with result,off to make a Victoria cake now.

My daughter who is nearly 4 made these the other day,with a little help,like other people we shall use half milk next time as all dark was a bit bitter for some people.
Very nice though.

Made these twice now, second batch I've jut made for a friends Christmas hamper, so simple to make for great results, look good presented in clear cake bags tied up with a bit of curled ribbon. Used a bag of malteasers, pink and white marshmallows and a snickers bar. Left in the fridge for about an hour and a half max, any longer and you need a chain saw to cut it up! Great tasting, doesn't ever last long!
