Method

  1. In a large, non-stick frying pan, brown the meatballs for 2 mins over a high heat. Stir in the onion marmalade, stock and apples, then bring to the boil.
  2. Simmer for about 15 mins until the apples and pork are cooked and the sauce has thickened. Spoon the meatballs and sauce over mash or a jacket potato.

This was ok. It's easy to make. 2 apples is too much I find. Use good quality onion marmalade - I'm sure it makes a difference.

Did this last night, and was delicious. We made our own meatballs with pork mince, red onion, sage and Worcester sauce. Would suggest making a little more gravy than in the recipe. We weren't sure whether the apple would work well, but sure enough, was lush.

This is so easy & delicious. I use veggie meatballs, don't be stingy with the onion marmalade. Quick mid week meal, just what we want.

Great. A whole onion might be a little much for the home made meatballs - makes them fall apart rather easily - but the great taste more than made up for it. This, and mash with peas and a little Philadelphia in, was perfect for two, not four!

Nice family dinner. I used homemade meatballs made with half pork, half beef mince, breadcrumbs and an egg. The meatballs needed to be turned over half way through cooking to cook evenly in the liquid. I will try with pears next time.

I love that there are only four ingredients to this recipe - especially seeing as we always have apples in, and veg stock in the cupboard, and the ammount of onion marmalade required is half a jar meaning it nicely makes two lots of this recipe without having any left over to waste.
On top of all that - it's delicious!

This is a very easy recipe & simple to do. I used the ready cooked swedish meatballs which worked equally as well.
