  1. To pre-cook the mangetout, snap away and discard the tops, then plunge into rapidly boiling salted water for 1 min before draining and keeping to one side. Heat a wok or frying pan, add the sesame seeds and ‘toast’ until golden brown. Spoon into a bowl and leave to one side.

  2. Add a splash of olive oil to the pan and fry the shallots, chilli and lemon zest over a medium heat for a few mins until the shallots just begin to soften. Season the pork with salt and pepper. Increase the heat in the pan, add the pork and fry for just a few mins until the pork is golden brown. Stir in the mangetout, sesame seeds, butter and lemon juice (using just half if it’s a particularly juicy fruit). Finish with a trickle of sesame oil, if using.

Quick and easy but not really sufficient on its own - it definitely needs rice or something else to make it more substantial. 100g of sesame seeds is such an obvious typo that I'm amazed to think anybody would actually use that quantity. 10-15g is ample.

I've just had this with my boyfriend for dinner. He's still picking sesame seeds out of his teeth. Far too many sesame seeds and very dry. Such a shame because nice ingredients.

We have just had this for dinner, it was lovely. I only used about 15g of sesame seeds, with the sesame oil added it didn't need any more.

Easy to make and tasted good - although perhaps needed a bit more kick. I cut down on the amount of sesame seeds used in the recipe - 100g is a lot!

Yummy, I had a stinking cold so added some fresh ginger and garlic to up the ante and also a splash of soy sauce - tasty freah and healthy.

To make this 5 stars I omitted the lemon and added finely chopped garlic, half a chilli, pinch of brown sugar and soy sauce. Used 1 tsp of seeds. I also added broccoli and pak choi to up the veg count. I used pork left over from sunday roast cut into thin strips. Also used groundnut oil instead of butter. Basically I changed the whole recipe....but hey that's the whole idea of BBC Good Food...being inventive! Served with sticky jasmine rice.

This was delicious. Very similar to another sitr fry recipe on here.
served with rice & a spud. Was worried there was no sauce but with the flavours coming through as they do you don't really need it. Will be making again. So nice!

We enjoyed this, used chicken inplace of the pork which worked well. Used less sesame seeds after realising 100gms equalles 2 jars ! Added ready cooked noodles for speed. Will become one of my regular weekday meals.

This recipies was nice but not as tasty as I was expecting.

I only added 10g of sesame seeds and that was just enough.

That is a lot of sesame seeds! - its a typo...in the magazine it says 2 tsp of sesame seeds.

Made this tonight. Also added ginger and the sesame seeds did seem a lot. But overall very nice dish

We made this with the ginger suggested above. Great recipe overall, but the amount of sesame seeds seemed excessive and we cut this down considerably - with great results.

Hated it... Please refrain from using that amount of sesame seeds... just add 2 tbsp... that should be more than enough...
