A very easy malt loaf I learnt from my mother.

Plus overnight to soak

Method

  1. Mix the All Bran, sugar, milk and dried fruit and leave overnight to soak.
  2. Stir in the self raising flour.
  3. Spoon the mixture into a lined and greased 2lb loaf tin.
  4. Bake at 190C/fan 170C/gas 5 for about an hour.

    What a simple recipe. Would have given it 5 stars but it was very very sweet. (yes I know it's a cake but still!!) Am going to try it again but with less sugar. not sure if it will work but we'll see. Can not see this cake lasting long once my son is home from school!!
