Ingredients

  • 100g chorizo, sliced

  • 350g tub fresh tomato and chilli sauce (we used Waitrose)
  • 400g can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 400g can chickpea, rinsed and drained
  • rice and natural yogurt, or jacket potatoes and soured cream, to serve

Method

  1. Dry-fry the chorizo for a few mins in a non-stick frying pan until crisp. Carefully pour off any fat from the pan, then tip in the sauce and beans with 100ml water. Bring to a simmer, cover, then lower the heat and bubble for 10 mins. Spoon over rice and serve with yogurt.

I quite liked this recipe but I was disappointed by the texture. Maybe I should have added less water or maybe I should have simmered it for longer but I found it sort of watery with bits in. It was tasty though.

This is very easy to make, I spiced it up even more with paprika, chilli powder and a tablespoon of brown sugar.

Really lovely mid week meal, I added tinned cherry tomatoes and cooked shredded roast chicken and some chestnut mushrooms, served it with lemon and coriander cous cous and garlic dough balls. It was yummy will def make again :)

Delicious and so easy to make. I added red onions and a tin of plum tomatoes. Serve with a ton of grated cheese and lashings of sour cream.

Tasty and simple...husband loves Chorizo too. I made my own chilli sauce which was easy enough and froze half for when I make it again! :)

I made this with 150g of chorizo purely because I like it, was lovely and split three ways with ease and it was still a very large portion. Is definitely something I would make again.

So quick and hassle free. Made this for some friends coming round to dinner, and they loved it. I couldnt find fresh tomato and chilli sauce, so used normal tomato sauce with a little chilli powder and some chopped fresh chillies for an extra kick. Will definitaly make again, or some variation!

How funny to see this come up. I have made this for years. I just use tinned tomatoes, chopped peppers, a little chicken stock, cumin, smoked paprika and chilli for the sauce. yum. It is very yummy and much healthier then mince chilli.

This is very delicious although I do find that the chickpeas need cooking out a bit longer. I have done it a few times and if I only leave it for the time required they are slightly harder than I would like, so I leave them a little bit longer so they are softer. Lovely with a sweet potato and a dollop of sour cream.

Couldn't find a can of chickpeas but used a can of butter beans instead and I thought it was still great. Made my own tomato sauce using the above reviewers advice and I'll stick to this in future.

Very tasty and was well received. I also used chopped tomatoes and added chilli flakes and a little garlic. We had it with pasta instead of rice or potatoes.

Made this for dinner tonight as I wanted something quick and easy and not a take-away!
Changed it a bit - used black-eyed beans as we like those best, and added red onion & green pepper. I had no chilli pasta sauce so whizzed up a tin of tomatoes and added some dried chilli flakes.
But all that apart, it was really tasty and we loved it. Served it with rice and a rocket salad. Will make it again.
