  • 280g linguine pasta
  • 200g sugar snap pea, trimmed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 large garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 1 large red chilli, seeded and finely chopped
  • 24 raw king prawn, peeled
  • 12 cherry tomato, halved
  • a handful of fresh basil leaves
  • mixed salad leaves and crusty white bread, to serve

For the lime dressing

  • 2 tbsp virtually fat-free fromage frais
  • grated zest and juice of 2 limes

  1. Mix the dressing ingredients in a small bowl and season with salt and pepper. Set aside.

  2. Cook the pasta according to the packet instructions. Add the sugar snap peas for the last minute or so of cooking time.

  3. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a wok or large frying pan, toss in the garlic and chilli and cook over a fairly gentle heat for about 30 seconds without letting the garlic brown. Tip in the prawns and cook over a high heat, stirring frequently, for about 3 minutes until they turn pink.

  4. Add the tomatoes and cook, stirring occasionally, for 3 minutes until they just start to soften. Drain the pasta and sugar snaps well, then toss into the prawn mixture. Tear in the basil leaves, stir, and season with salt and pepper.

  5. Serve with salad leaves drizzled with the lime dressing, and warm crusty bread.

Looked like a great recipe, but I worried about the negative comments, where they poor cooks or a poor recipe? IMO the sweet and sour is 'seriously unbalanced', way, way too much lime, which overrides the chilli & garlic (some task) let alone the prawns! 'Might' be a good recipe if the citrus is turned down!

Good recipe. I added an extra half a chilli and garlic clove. Also blended up up 20 plum tomatoes with an extra handful of basil and drizzle of olive oil to make more of a sauce as it seemed like it might be a bit dry. It was perfect.

This was an awesome recipe, although I did not make the salad. The spiciness of the peppers, crunchy snap peas, and delicate prawn flavour made a delicious dinner. I did add a small amount of the pasta water to add a bit extra sauce to the dish. Will definitely make it again!!

Sorry fusion food that's gone horribly wrong.
When have sugar snap peas gone together with pasta and fromage frais lime dressing. Yuck!
One of the worse dishes I've ever eaten, I will remove it from my recipe collection never to be repeated again! An awful recipe. I cannot give a star at all.

I halved the quantities as I was just cooking for my girlfriend and I, but I reckon we could've eaten more of it! I'm normally a terrible cook but found this recipe very easy to make, my girlfriend loved the lime salad dressing. Unfortunately I didn't have any basil leaves so didn't put that in but it was still delicious, but after reading the other comment below I think I'll definitely have to use the basil next time to compare! Thanks!

Nice pasta recipe. Looks pretty, super quick to make, and lovely fresh flavours. I was put off making the salad dressing though, as rather a lot of sugar (but sure would be very tasty!). I agree with another reviewer that it would be a stretch to serve six, just two of us happily scoffed the lot. Basil really made the dish.

Lovely recipe, fast and fresh! Added extra chilli too :) only thing I would say is the recipe does not serve 6! No way! We had it between 2 as it was so yummy! Left out the sugar snaps by accident though.

Very nice. A big hit with the family. I used Haricots beans in stead of sugar snap and Danone lemon and lime yoghurt for the dressing. Worth making the pasta for too. Very quick.

Yummy and quick! Had to use pasta instead of linguine and fine beans instead of sugar snaps, but still tasted good!

This was sooooo delicious. The salad dressing is gorgeous and I will use it for other recipes. This will be a regular favourite. My partner loved it! You could do with flaked salmon also I think.

Such a yummy recipe. I didn't have the limes or frais so improvised with what I had - adding an egg (mixing straight in hot pasta after straining it), a tablespoon of mayonnaise and a good squirt of lemon juice. Will definitely be making this again!

Struggle to get fromage frais where I live, can I use Greek yoghurt or creme freche instead?
