Method

  1. Cook the gnocchi in a large pan of boiling water according to pack instructions. Plunge the spinach into the same pan, then immediately drain through a colander and shake off any excess water.
  2. Put the crème fraîche in a small ovenproof dish with the grated parmesan. Add the hot, drained gnocchi and spinach and give everything a good stir. Crumble the blue cheese over and season with ground pepper.
  3. Slide the dish under a hot grill until the cheese is bubbling and golden. Serve immediately.

A superb winter warmer. Tesco fresh Gnocchi worked very well, I used half fat creme freche so as not to feel too guilty (an empty gesture I know with all the cheese and spuds!)

Delicious! I served this with a salad of pears, walnuts, ruccola and honey so the sweetness of the fruit can contrast the salty blue cheese.

First time I've cooked with gnocchi and I'd use this recipe again. I love blue cheese, but I think I'd use a little less next time as it was very rich. Tasty though!

My husband loved this as a big fan of blue cheese..bit too rich for me, would probably use a little less cheese next time.

Great recipe with good mix of flavours. If you find the blue cheese a little strong try a creamier blue such as Strathdon Blue which is much gentler than some of the stiltons.

The flavour was amazingly good, but it was to rich for me. Next time I halve everything and serve it with a salad. That will fresh it up a little bit. But... Very Good Flavours!!

REALLY easy and the sauce tastes gorgeous. One of my friends suggested using four cheese tortelloni instead of gnocchi (for a REAL cheese hit!) and I LOVE it. Definitely a hit in our house!
