Chocolate Easter Nests

A heather yet fun way of getting a very good source of whole wheat into your childs diet

Method

  1. using clean hands, break up the shedded wheat into a large bowl.
  2. Break the chocolate into squares and place in a heatproof bowl with the syrup and butter. Melt over a pan of simmering water until smooth and glossy.
  3. Pour over the shredded wheat and mix wellso they are all coated in the chocolate mixture.
  4. spoon the mixture into individual cake cases, leaving a small well in the centre of each one.
  5. Finally gently press 3 candy eggs into the well, chill until firm and enjoy

    These were made for a church event during the Easter period. They sold out within a few minutes and looked very attractive . Very little work prep wise.

    Have you ever made these with the thin Chinese Noodles? (Not Ramen Noodles) Just melt the chocolate and add the dry thin noodles righ to the chocolate and stir gently. I mix well, put out on a parchment paper lined pan. Scoop into nests. Right away I add jelly beans and Marshmallow bunnies or chicks to the nest. Let them dry over night. I serve each of my guests one as a table decoration, too.
