Andrea Otte

Coffee writer

Andrea Otte was raised on a steady diet of filter coffee and bad croissants in the Logan Square neighbourhood of Chicago, where she worked in many roles, starting as a barista and café manager, and eventually graduating to head roaster and green coffee buyer. After a number of years running a wholesale roastery, she came to London to pursue a Masters degree in Development and International Business. Her biggest influences from the coffee world have come from the kindness of its people and its embrace of the unfamiliar. Her favourite brew method is a conical pour over, and her favourite beans come from Colombia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
