  1. Bring a large pan of water to the boil and cook the spaghetti following pack instructions. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a large non-stick frying pan and cook the bacon for 3-4 mins until just starting to crisp. Stir in the onion and cook for another 3-4 mins, then add the garlic and smoked paprika, and cook for 1 min more.

  2. Pour in the chopped tomatoes, bring to the boil and bubble for about 5 mins until thickened, stirring every so often to stop it catching on the bottom. Drain the pasta and toss with the sauce. Serve with Parmesan, if you like.

You need a lot of extra seasoning to make this taste like anything more than tomato pasta.

This is such a great meal for everyone and yet so quick and easy to make.

A quick, easy, midweek dinner for the family. Kids had it as per the recipe and loved it. And for the adults I just added dried chilli flakes. Will definitely use this recipe again.

This was absolutely delicious. I used one tin of tomatoes and a squirt if tomato purée and a big splash of pasta cooking water. Also added green olives which really added to the flavour. Served it with a shaved fennel and cucumber salad.... Yum! Clean plates all round :)

I really enjoyed this meal. I didn't think it was too bland whatsoever. The only problem I had was that there wasn't enough bacon! (I love bacon) next time I will add more.

Lovely dish. Recipes uses far too much spaghetti though. I used a third less and put double the bacon in. Will deffo do again

For speed this meal is awesome, for taste, it is very easy to 'under-season'. Due to the large amount of tinned tomatoes its easy for the dish to be watered down, don't be afraid to use more herbs and spices such as Basil, oregano and even a bit of chilli powder really helped to bring the dish together. With a few adjustments this meal has become a regular at my table and can often see itself on lunch the next day. It keeps well and the price makes the dish really worth it.
