A healthy version of an Italian classic

  • 4tbsp tia maria
  • 1tsp sugar
  • 150ml cold water
  • 2.5tsp coffee granules
  • 250ml low fat custard
  • 200g low fat cream cheese
  • 1tbsp caster sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod seeds
  • 12 sponge fingers
  • 15g cocoa
  • 4 serving glasses


    1. dissolve coffee in 2tbsp boiling water with the sugar
    2. place in a large shallow dish with the water and liquer and mix
    3. Beat together custard, cheese, sugar and vanilla until smooth
    4. Dip 2 sponge fingers in the coffee mix until soaked. Break into 1 of the glasses, top with custard and sprinkle with cocoa, repeat another layer
    5. Do the same with the other 3 glasses and chill for at least an hour before serving
    6. Per serving: 257kcals, 3.9g fat. 0.5g saturates
