Method

  1. Mix the crème fraîche with the horseradish and a little salt and pepper. For the dressing, whisk the lime juice and zest with the honey, ginger and seasoning, then whisk in the oil. Lay the smoked salmon and prawns on 2 plates, then top with a dollop of the horseradish cream. Toss the salad in most of the dressing and pile on top. Drizzle the remaining dressing around the plate and serve.

Made this last night for 12 people as I was asked to do a starter. Took everything with me to the hostesses home and assembled it there. It tastes divine and I put 2 slices of avocado per person on to each plate. Lots of compliments and requests for the recipe. Will do this again.

This is a wonderful light starter & tastes amazing your guests will be thrilled. A great twist on the traditional prawn cocktail. Perfect for dinner parties as can be made & prepared in advance.

Second time with this recipe, prepared at home, then assembled at a friend's for 16 people. I made double the horseradish sauce because it is my favourite part! Great flavours, very popular and easily mobile.

This was superb! Forgot to buy the creme fraiche, so used creamed cheese instead. It was still amazing, everyone loved it!
