    Method

    1. Tip the mince into a large bowl (use a clean washing-up bowl if you don’t have anything big enough) with all the other burger ingredients and a good pinch of salt. Roll up your sleeves, get your hands into the mix and squelch everything together through your fingers until completely mixed. Pat the mix into 16 small burgers. These may now be frozen for up to 1 month or chilled up to a day ahead.

    2. To cook, heat grill to its highest setting and lay the burgers in a single layer on a baking tray (you may need to do this in batches, depending on how big your tray is). Grill on the highest shelf for 5-6 mins on each side until browned and cooked through. Pile burgers onto a platter and serve with all the accompaniments, so everyone can construct their own sandwich.

    These are brilliant! I was surprise how much they tasted like doner kebab! Spread the mix flat and cut into strips to b more like kebab meat!

    good recipe, I added ginger and mint as well and didn't put in the whole bulb of garlic. Easy to make.

    Considering the short list of ingredients, these burgers were very tasty indeed. I cut down on the amount of garlic, as it seems a little excessive, but found they were lacking a certain something! Still a very quick, tasty supper for a group.

    made these last week, really good. I changed the yoghurt to Tzatziki, this is definitely in my GF recipe folder! Must also try out bowley1's tip, sounds good!

    Made these tonight and I used half the amount of Lamb and then made the quantity up with cooked Quinoa (any which way to get grains in is our motto) I also spread the Kofta mix out across a baking tray and Grilled it so it was more like Donner kebab meat - the result was fantastic, Hubby, kids (8yr and 1yr) and myself all loved them. All in all a healthier version of a Donner Kebab and WAY WAY WAY more tasty. All in all a cheap and VERY tasty meal. Will Definitely be making our own Donner Kebabs in future.

    These were really good, used my little processor to whizz up the onions and garlic rather than grate them, also mis-read the recipe and used sweet chilli sauce rather than chilli sauce, but worked really well. Now have a freezer full of them ready for the BBQ

    Lovely stuff, although the burgers were a little dry when I made them, although I'm sure this is my own fault! Used Cayenne instead of Paprika and gave it a great kick, also a bit of sweet chilli sauce on top was awesome.
