Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 can of chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 70g cocktail sausages
  • 120g dried pasta shapes

Method

  • STEP 1
    Gather all ingredients and equiptment
  • STEP 2
    Finely chop the onion
  • STEP 3
    Heat the vegetable oil in a saucepan then add the onion
  • STEP 4
    Add the can of tomatoes, tomato and garlic puree, sugar and sausage
  • STEP 5
    Stir and add the vegetables and seasoning
  • STEP 6
    Simmer gently uncovered for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally
  • STEP 7
    While sauce is simmering, add pasta to boiling water and cook for 10-12 minutes until soft
  • STEP 8
    Drain pasta in collander and rinse with cold water
  • STEP 9
    Add the sauce to the pasta, mix thouroughly and serve with fresh basil
