Method

  1. Heat the oil in a roasting tin on the hob (use 2 rings), then add the onions, pears, most of the rosemary and seasoning. Fry for 5 mins or until just starting to caramelise.

  2. Heat grill to high. Season the pork, then arrange among the veg and fry for 5 mins, turning halfway until golden and cooked through. Scatter with the remaining rosemary and the cheese, grill until the cheese starts to melt, then serve.

Loved this! It took longer to cook than the recipe stated, but was simple and delicious. I used normal onions and mature cheddar cheese as that was what we had available. It went down well with everyone and I'll definitely be cooking it again.

While the pears were yum and I will b looking for other cooking ideas with them 2 red onions is far too much. If I were to do this recipe again I would use one onion and another veg. Also I could not taste the blue cheese and feel the pork needs a stronger sauce

Wow. This was as close to a perfect supper as I've ever come across. So quick. so easy, so tasty. I would never have thought the combination of pork, pears and blue cheese would be a marriage made in heaven but it is! 6 stars!

Fantastic combination of flavours. Didn't have a hob safe tin so cooked onions & pears up in a pan before plonking them in the tin, then seared the pork in that same pan with all the leftover brown bits before putting in the grill. Will make again.

Just cooked this for me and my mum, changed it a little and cooked in the oven for half an hour or so instead and turned out amazing!

5 minutes to fry the pear and onion to be caramelised? More like 10. 5 minutes to fry a pork chop? It wasn't cooked in the middle. I grilled it for another 5. It seemed a lot of messing about and I'm not convinced the ingredients all go together. The red onion adds crunch (not fully cooked) and the blue cheese did absolutely nothing at that volume. If I were to try again it would all be in the oven.

A very good recipe. I modified it slightly by deglazing the pan with some stock after plating-up the meat and onions, and then adding some soured cream and fresh parsley. It made a lovely sauce that went well with mash potatoes and green beans.
