  1. Mix together all the ingredients until well blended. Divide into 8 balls, then roll each ball on a board with a cupped hand to turn them into ovals.

  2. Thread onto 4 metal skewers and brush with oil. To cook on a griddle: heat the pan until you can feel a good heat rising and cook for 3-4 mins each side. Don’t turn until they are well sealed or the meat will stick to the grill or pan. Season if you want, and set aside. Serve the koftas with yogurt and spiced flat breads.

I whizzed the ingredients (minus mince) in a food processor and added a chopped red chilli and some onion. Then combined this with the mince. It was delicious! Served it with a mint yoghurt sauce, slice of lemon for squeezing and a feta cheese salad - yum!

Nice but needed much more spice than stated and quite a bit of salt.

This is a delicious recipe. I just make it for tonight dinner. Instead of using the recipe to make kebab, I turned it into meat ball. It really compliments well the brinjal pasta. Thanks for sharing this recipe. Tina

I tried these and also added pine nuts to the mixture. My only problem was that they could not stick to the skewers! At the end I added an egg but to no avail so I just presented them as patties with cucumber and mint yogurt dip. Big success!

We loved these and will definitely make again. I think they could do with a bit more kick so if I make them again I will add a chilli as someone else suggested. However for a bbq I will stick to the recipe above and shape them into burgers - yum :-))

Delicious - I flattened them into burgers and fried them.
