  • 500g lamb mince

  • 1 tbsp chopped mint

  • oil for brushing

Method

  1. Mix together all the ingredients until well blended. Divide into 8 balls, then roll each ball on a board with a cupped hand to turn them into ovals.

  2. Thread onto 4 metal skewers and brush with oil. To cook on a griddle: heat the pan until you can feel a good heat rising and cook for 3-4 mins each side. Don’t turn until they are well sealed or the meat will stick to the grill or pan. Season if you want, and set aside. Serve the koftas with yogurt and spiced flat breads.

Great wee recipe. My family adored these. I read the comments and doubled the spices but my boys said they could have taken even more spice so I'll likely triple the spices stated next time. Served with pitta, mint and yogurt dip, salad and some herby couscous. Also grilled some halloumi on the side so everyone could make up their own pitta pockets. Will definitely make again. Easy peasy...By the way, I didn't bother with the skewers...just popped them straight onto a hot griddle and they worked a treat.

If you're going to make the yogurt and mint sauce dip, very finely dice a cucumber into it. Split it in half, use a spoon to scrap the seeds out (or it will be really watery), cut along the length 5 or 6 times, then horizontal to make tiny squares, mix in the yogurt and mint sauce.

Extremely easy to prepare and delicious. Took on board the doubling up of spices and glad I did. I think it could even take doubling up again. Will make again, especially during BBQ time. Served with yogurt with mint, soft bread and tomato and onion salad.

Made this yesterday. After reading comments doubled spices and added dried chilli powder. Served in soft tortilla wraps with salad and mint yoghurt dip. Delicious!! 5 stars for ease of making and taste!

I've made these a few times now, and they're really good but they need a lot more spice - I treble the amount stated and add some chilli flakes, plus a really good dose of salt. Really nice with minted yoghurt, Greek salad and roasted sweet potato and peppers, or herb rice.

These were simply delicious, will defiantly be making them again! We served them with pittas and couscous.

Oh.my.gosh....these were amazing. I served them with warm pittas, an onion salad and a mint and yoghurt dip. Will be doing these quite regular!

Simple and delicious, I used 750g of mince, an extra tsp each of ground cumin and coriander and whizzed up half the mince with the chopped mint and garlic, plus a bit of fresh coriander and a splash of lemon juice. This mixed with the remaining mince gives a lovely texture and I served with greek yoghurt mixed with ready made mint sauce.

So delicious, we'll definitely make these again. I served it with Geek salad (also from bbc good food) and a homemade yogurt and mint dip.
