Method

  1. Heat oven to 220C/200C fan/gas 7. In a large bowl, combine the onion, carrot, half the garlic and half the rosemary with the turkey and some seasoning. Shape into 16 meatballs and put in a small baking tray. Toss the potatoes with the remaining garlic, rosemary and the oil, place in a baking tray, then cook both for 20 mins, with the potatoes on top shelf.

  2. After 20 mins, drain juices off the meatballs, pour cherry tomatoes over, sprinkle with the Parmesan and season. Toss the potatoes, and swap to bottom shelf with the potatoes on top. Cook for another 20 mins until the potatoes are crisp and the meatball sauce is bubbling.

  3. When the potatoes and meatballs are almost done, cook the broccoli for 3-4 mins, until tender. Sprinkle the basil on top of the meatballs and serve with the crispy potatoes and broccoli.

I've made this review I've several times. I add chilli flakes and plenty of seasoning to the meatballs and double the pasta so there is plenty of sauce and sprinkle fresh basil or dried in it. If I'm feeling flush, will she'll out for a passata with herbs and garlic. All good!

Doubled the amount of garlic and rosemary in the meatballs and they had a really nice flavour. Wasn't keen on the sauce at all.

The potatoes were lovely, however the meatballs were bland and dry. I added plenty of seasoning and also paprika but to no avail. I won't be making this again.

I added paprika to the meatballs from reading the comments below. I also added tomato puree when I added the tinned tomatoes and added some water too as the tinned tomatoes did not cover all the meatballs. the potatoes were brilliant

The meatballs lacked flavour which was disappointing. The potatoes were lovely as I added crushed fresh garlic to them whilst cooking. The broccoli didn't do much for the dish either. Not bad though!

Just came back to this recipe to make for the 2nd time. Everyone loved it - the kids even ate the broccoli without complaint. To speed things up I grated the onion and carrot in a food proccessor then added everything else to mix through. Everything was on the table in about 30-40 minutes - a miracle!

I added an egg to the meatballs to help them stay together and some chilli flakes for a kick. Also used passata for the sauce with some added basil, instead of the tomatoes. I've made these several times and they are really tasty and healthy :-)
