Ingredients

  • 6 fillets of fresh cod or any white fish
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 medium cooking onion
  • 1/2 in ginger
  • 3 green chillies
  • pinch of turmeric
  • 1 tbsp sunfower oil
  • salt to taste
  • chopped coriander leaves to garnish

Method

  • STEP 1
    clean and pat dry the fish fillet
  • STEP 2
    make a paste with onion/ginger/garlic/green chillies and fry in hot oil till golden brown and oil separates
  • STEP 3
    add salt to taste and 2-3 cups of water,add fish fillets gently
  • STEP 4
    simmer for next 20 mins ,add coriander leaves for the last 2-3 mins
  • STEP 5
    serve hot with long grain rice
