Method

  1. Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/ gas 6. Pop the breadcrumbs, lamb mince, egg and plenty of seasoning in a bowl. Grate in half an onion and sprinkle in half the chopped mint. Give everything a good mix and shape into 8 patties. Place on a large, shallow roasting tray.

  2. Cut the remaining onion halves into wedges. Place them on the tray around the lamb patties with the potatoes, courgettes and cherry tomatoes. Drizzle with olive oil and season. Bake for around 40 mins, turning everything once, until the lamb is cooked though and the vegetables are tender. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with feta and remaining mint.

It was absolutely delicious! to avoid potatoes getting soggy you need to keep removing the juices from the dish while its being baked. Also I did not put breadcrumbs or egg when making the meatballs which made them firmer. For me the flavours were spot on.

This was not popular in our house. The meatballs were nice and I'd have them again, but the potatoes and vegetables were soggy from sitting in the juices. I think it would be improved by cooking the potatoes separately.

This was lovely but I did change it a bit. I used shop bought meatballs which I fried separately. I also roasted the potatoes separately as we like them really crispy. I roasted 2 onions with the courgette and added the tomatoes and feta about 10 minutes from the end of cooking time so they didn't get zapped too much. Sprinkled fresh mint over the top at the end. We liked it so much that we had it twice in a week!

Absolutely delicious, whole family enjoyed this last night including fussy six years old :-) I pre-boiled potatoes prior to putting dish in the oven. I will definitely make this again.

The whole family really enjoyed this. I did tweek it slightly as I don't have many feta eaters in the house so baked some halloumi in it instead. Squeaky cheese is always a winner but went really well in this dish.

This one's a keeper! Made it so many times I've lost count. It's a great dish for entertaining served with tzatziki, pittas and goes well with the gigantes plaki recipe.

This is absolutely delicious! The mint really makes the meatballs so yummy. We added carrots for some extra veg and we didn't need to parboil the potatoes - we just put them in about 20 mins before everything else and it was all ready at the same time.

Lovely, had this a few times now. To make it really quick we have used ready made meatballs & frozen potato wedges. Still lovely!
