The ultimate family film night

Cosy up on the sofa with a family film and our crowd-pleasing movie snacks, including sticky chicken, nachos and sweet treats. They'll steal the show.

S'mores dip

Close the curtains, kick back on the sofa, press 'play' and get stuck into buckets of popcorn, homemade slushies and the most amazing s’mores dip. A night in with the family can be one of life's simple pleasures if you do a little prep to make it an occasion, like laying a picnic blanket out for the kids and whipping up a few treats with our easy snack recipes. Who needs the cinema?

S’mores dip

Have napkins handy for this gooey, dippy delight that kids will love – and grown-ups will want to get involved with too. Topped with toasted marshmallows, this is a sized-up, super chocolatey twist on the classic American campfire treat. Dunk skewered fresh fruit and biscuits into it for a moreish treat. It'll be gone before you can say, 'Gimme s’more!'.

Popcorn ideas

Brown sugar & cinnamon salted popcorn

It’s not a movie night unless the smell of freshly popped corn is in the air. If you like yours sweet, then our recipe for brown sugar & cinnamon popcorn won't disappoint, with just a hint of warming spice for added luxury. Or how about a chocolate, toffee and popcorn combo? You'll need to try our 15-minute toffee popcorn bark.

Say cheese!

Cheese and onion rolls with dip

If you want a more substantial bite, tuck into cheese & onion rolls for a satisfying veggie snack enveloped in buttery flaky pastry. Or, for all devotees of grilled cheese, we've devised a seriously moreish smoky mac 'n' cheese toastie for a dreamlike combination of two comfort food favourites. We also have an easy-to-make quattro formaggio sandwich that's meltingly good.

Sticky chicken

Honey glazed chicken wings

A lip-smacking snack of sticky honey-glazed chicken wings makes the perfect, relaxed sofa supper. Just have lots of napkins at the ready! For a Chinese-style version, try our sticky Sichuan chicken wings, though do go easy on the chilli if you have little ones to feed. Finger food doesn't always have to be naughty either. Try our nutty chicken satay strips for a healthy snack.

Nachos naturally

Nachos are always a popular movie snack, especially when accompanied by a gorgeously creamy guacamole. Channel the festive fiesta vibe and smother your tortilla chips in a mouthwateringly melty cheese and bacon sauce as we've done with our indulgent nachos recipe. Or give your nachos an Indian-style makeover with our tasty nachodums sharing platter. Just combine poppadum crisps with paneer, chutney and relish for an innovative bite that's a particular hit with teens.

Sweet treats

Rocky road pieces on a wooden board

You've got to have a few sweet snacks to nibble on, especially during a long film. Our rocky road recipe is easy to make with that winning combination of smooth chocolate, chewy marshmallow and crunchy biscuit. Just pop the mixture in the fridge for 1-2 hours and your indulgent chocolate treat is ready for devouring. Or if you simply can't wait that long for your chocolate hit, whip up an irresistibly gooey melt-in-the-middle mug cake. It only takes 45 seconds to cook!

Movie drinks

Of course, you'll also need something to wash down all the goodies. How about slurping on our thirst-quenching raspberry lemonade slushies – a real treat without the onslaught of e-numbers. Let the kids help whizz them up and serve in cute jam jar glasses.
