We’ll show you exactly what an active starter should look like, what the texture of your dough will be when you handle it and what you should be experiencing each step of the way.
Sourdough is simple once you have the knack, all you need is flour, water and salt, we can help you gain this life-changing skill. Baking your own is also extremely budget friendly.

Your Masterclass host
Led by expert tutor, our Shows and skills editor Barney Desmazery, he will share his years of cooking and baking experience, and answer your sourdough questions in a live Q&A session. Barney has led many live masterclasses for BBC Good Food and, is bringing his skills to you online, so you can learn from him from the comfort of your own home.
Your Masterclass itinerary
19th and 26th of January, 12pm. In this 1 hour-long webcast, sourdough expert Barney, will revisit every stage of the process to troubleshoot any issues you might be having, so you can look forward to great results every time.
After the Masterclass presentation, a recording of the Masterclass will be made available to all registered attendees to re-watch for a period of seven days – a link will be sent to you by email within 72 hours from the live masterclass.
