"Delicious! I wanted a cake for a fireworks party, to have warm with custard or icecream - it's great! Not brilliant for Weight Watchers - but def worth saving a few points for!!"

"This is a fantastic recipe and the taste of the saffron was amazing. I served it after a curry whish was perfect as I alway struggle for dessert ideas after spicy food. Might try putting a little more ginger wine in and reduce water as the ginger taste was a little over powered by the saffron - not that it mattered though. Will def do this again."

"really delicious. I often find that the larger cake recipes on this website do not cook thouroughly (withought the top and sides becoming over cooked and hard). I made up the same quantity and split it between 2 victoria sponge tins. Had some great comments."
