"Great high protein and filling midweek food. I made it without the lemon, cooked with a good pinch of chilli flakes, then served with the Harissa Couscous (on this site) sprinkled all over with coriander leaves. Recommended."

Cherry cheesecake slice

"Not as good as I had hoped. However, I used cheap value cream cheese and it had only chilled for 2 hrs before I cut it and it wasn't cold, so maybe that could also be why the texture was a little 'scrambled -eggy'. The cherries need a bit of booze in them too and I struggled to get the syrup right, once I added the cherries, the sugar cooled and the syrup started to set solid. I had to add some boiling water and melt it down again, but some hard crystals remained. I would try again, as there's no reason why it shouldn't be great."

"Made for father's day and went down really well. I used a 24cm tin, used up all the pastry and the filling fitted perfectly. Left out the lemon on purpose, but forgot to add almond essence which I would do next time. Used much more jam, but just enough for a good even covering. Sprinkled the flaked almonds on top right from the start, baked at fan 150 for about 50 minutes until the top looked risen, golden and dry and it was cooked perfectly. Will definately be adding to my repertoire."
